MNTH is a musician and music producer from Guarulhos (SP), Brazil. With five albums released: "Silente Esplendor" (2026), "Lume Púrpuro" (2024), "Iminente" (2022), "MNTH" (2021) and "Te Espero na Melhor das Formas" (2013), the musician is preparing for his fourth release, "Lume Púrpuro", in April 2024. MNTH has performed at important venues and festivals in Brazil, including Festival Novas Frequências (RJ), Farol Santander (POA), Chiii (SP), Festival Index (SP), Festival Laço, Festival da Cidade (SP), Sesc Ipiranga (SP), Sesc Campo Limpo (SP), Biblioteca Mário de Andrade (SP), Centro da Terra (SP), among others. In addition to his solo career, MNTH is a co-founder of the Desmonta label and a central figure in the Brazilian independent scene for almost two decades. Having released seminal albums for the deconstructive trio Metá Metá and being a regular home for the frequent and varied production of Maurício Takara over the years.
Luciano Valério also organized shows throughout Brazil and South America for his own record label, artists from Desmonta, and international artists such as Lee Ranaldo and Steve Shelley from Sonic Youth, The Ex, Jozef Van Wissem, Stephen O'Malley, Daniel Higgs from Lungfish, Thavius Beck, Moor Mother, The Thing, Joe Lally from Fugazi, and many others.
Described by Music Is My Sanctuary as a "spiky mix of dub techno, jazz, Afro-Brazilian percussion and punk, emerging from the São Paulo underground," MNTH's self-titled 2020 album received support from Bandcamp Weekly, BBC Radio 3's Late Junction and Rádio Primavera Sound.
